Privacy policy

This policy explains how Knut Sætrevik, who owns druedyrking.com, handles personal data on the site.

What we process

• Contact. If you use the form on this page, your name, email address and message are sent to the owner and kept in the mailbox until they are no longer needed.
• Guestbook. The guestbook is loaded from GitHub only after you accept. A note includes your GitHub username, any visible email, and the text. It is published and stored in our GitHub repository.
• Technical logs. The web server may log IP address, browser type and the time of a visit. The logs are used for security, troubleshooting and running the site.
• Statistics. If you accept, the home page loads Statcounter. Time, IP address, browser, screen and the page you came from may be recorded. Statcounter sets a cookie named is_unique for up to five years, to tell a new visit from a returning one.
• Weather. If you accept, the weather page loads a forecast from yr.no. Yr may log the IP address with an operations provider for up to 30 days. See Yr’s privacy policy.

Why, and the legal basis

• Running the site and keeping it secure, including server logs (legitimate interest).
• Replying to a message you send in the form (your request).
• Visit statistics on the home page (consent). You can refuse, and you can withdraw consent.
• Guestbook and weather from other sites (consent). That content is not loaded until you accept.

Sharing and transfers

Data is not shared except with the services above, the email service that delivers a message from the form, and the host that serves the site. We do not sell personal data.

GitHub is in the United States. Statcounter is an Irish company. Yr is run by NRK and the Norwegian Meteorological Institute. Their policies describe where data is processed: GitHub, Statcounter and Yr.

How long data is kept

• Guestbook: for as long as the note is published, or until you or the owner ask for deletion in the form on this page.
• Statcounter: the cookie may remain for up to five years. How long the visit log is kept is set in the Statcounter account.
• Yr: the IP address may be stored for up to 30 days once the forecast has been loaded.
• Server logs: deleted or anonymised when no longer needed for security and operation.
• Your consent choice is stored only in the browser on this device.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the information we hold about you
• Correction of information that is wrong
• Deletion, where that is possible
• Restriction of the processing
• Data portability where the information was given with consent
• Object to processing based on legitimate interest

• Complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet

The site itself sets no cookies. Language follows the address, not a cookie.

Statcounter, GitHub and yr.no may store information on the device only after you accept. Without a choice, they are not loaded.
