Winter pruning of grapevines

In winter the plants are to be pruned and tied up (see “pruning”). Otherwise it is time for application of fertilizer. I use natural fertilizer and add potassium in the form of wood ash. Winter is also the right time to take cuttings.

My main purpose is not the sale of grape plants. There are others in Norway who do that. Nevertheless, should there be anyone who wants special grape varieties, I can be contacted by E-mail. Be aware that many of the European grape varieties are not permitted to be propagated by cuttings. They must be ordered from nurseries in Germany that have purchased rights to propagate the varieties. In that case they are grafted onto rootstock. Such plants can be purchased from Rusvik vinplanter in Asker / via Arild Syversen. and from Kvelland vineyard in Lyngdal / Knut Helge Thompsen
